I have come a long way to be able to share this with everyone. I now am confident enough to try new things. I hope my stories show that dogs like me can have a better life if people do not give up on us.

It’s not all so easy for me and some things I will never learn. Perhaps the future will hold new things for me because I have found a person who believes in me and is patient as I discover new things. I trust her enough to improvise as I go along.

This is how I learned to shake with my paw. I learned it all by myself!

Christine had a delicious treat in her pocket and I wanted it. I love to eat!

As I was trying to figure out how to get it I raised my paw. I heard a click. I raised my paw again and got another click. I was fascinated and repeated it several times. I got so excited that I raised my paw all the way over my head. Then I got a laugh, a click and a lot of treats.

Shaking hands is fun and now I do it all the time. I even do it when I look at table food, Christine calls this begging, but I disagree. I can get demanding and scratch at her leg. When this doesn’t work I stand up.

But then unfortunatly I fall back down quickly. Christine then feels sorry for me.
